1st Saipan Marathon & 25th Annual Saipan Half Marathon & 20th Annual 10 Kilometer Fun Run

10k (6.2 Miles), half marathon (13.1 miles/21.1K), and marathon (26 miles/41.84 kilometers). Entry fee is $25 and $30 after January 15, 2006. Start time 5:30 a.m. pre-race check-in 4:30 am to 5:15 am., at the American Memorial Park intersection (Micro Beach), next to DPS sub-station. Age division: 19 and under, 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; and 50 and Up. Running course will be along the scenic Beach Road in Saipan. The 10K run turn around is in front of the Saipan Bowling Center in Oleai, the Half Marathon run turns around south of the San Antonio Beach (P.I.C.) and ends at Micro Beach. Entry fee deadline is January 14, 2006 (all Events).

Marianas Open Windsurfing Championships (Saipan)

Event begins February 8th and runs through February 12th. The Marianas Open incorporates both kite boarding and windsurfing over a five day festival and takes place on Micro Beach, a slender strip of white sand that hugs the island?s western shore. Competitors from Japan, Guam and the CNMI will vie for honors in this event. This international sport event is part of the Asian Windsurfing Tour, which include Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and the Marianas.

2nd Annual Kites for Wishes

Event begins February 18th and runs through February 19th. A premiere event on Guam to benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation. The event will feature kite professionals and also activities. With a successful hosting of the First Kites for Wishes, Make-A-Wish Guam and Pacificare Asia Pacific are joined together to bring this fun-filled family extravaganza back again in a 2-day festival. Activities include: kite exhibitions, kite making/flying, games & prizes, and food and drinks. Kites for wishes promises to be a fun-filled extravaganza for the entire family. Admissions is free.

20th Annual American Red Cross Walk-A-Thon

Annual walk-a-thon, sponsored by the NMI chapter of the American Red Cross. The 10km event will start at the Minachom Atdao (civic center) and it will run along the beach pathway, and the turning point will be at the Century Insurance. 31st Annual Saipan Laguna Regatta

Event begins March 4th and runs through March 5th.The Saipan Laguna is hosted annually by the Over the Reef Yacht, it is the longest running annual sport event on Saipan. Venue: Saipan lagoon. Race start: 9:55 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended. Entries shall be made on the Official Entry Form only and returned with the entry fee of $75.00 per person. XTerra (Saipan) Championship

An international sporting event, that will take place in some of the most rugged terrains and jungles of Saipan. The X-TERRA is an extreme triathlon challenge, which includes a 1.5K swim, a 12K trail run, and a 30K mountain bike race. A nationwide network of seventeen events offers the chance to race your way to the XTERRA World Championship which will be held on Maui, the battleground for an exclusive field, the best XTERRA age groupers from each region, and the strongest pro field since the inception of the sport. Event offers charitable fundraising events and entertainment for the CNMI community for all ages. Also, performance stunt shows from all over the world for causes suitable to geographical area needs, and also to make a positive impact for humanity through love of motorcycling. A 10k (6.2 Miles) and half marathon (13.1 miles/21.1K). Entry fee is $25 and $35. Start time 3:30 a.m. pre-race check-in 4:30 am to 5:15 am., at the American Memorial Park Intersection (Micro Beach), Next to DPS Sub-Station. Age division: 19 and under, 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; and 50 and Up. Running course will be along the scenic Beach Road in Saipan. The 10K run turn around is in front of the Saipan Bowling Center in Oleai and the Half Marathon run turn around south of the San Antonio Beach (P.I.C.).

31st Annual Saipan Laguna Regatta

This event will run from the 3rd through the 4th of March. The Saipan Laguna is hosted annually by the Over the Reef Yacht, it is the longest running annual sport event on Saipan. Venue: Saipan lagoon. Race start: 9:55 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended. Entries shall be made on the Official Entry Form only and returned with the entry fee of $75.00 per person. XTERRA (Saipan) Championship

An international sporting event that will take place in some of the most rugged terrains and jungles of Saipan. The X-TERRA is an extreme triathlon challenge, which includes a 1.5K swim, a 12K trail run, and a 30K mountain bike race. A nationwide network of seventeen events offers the chance to race your way to the XTERRA World Championship which will be held on Maui, the battleground for an exclusive field, the best XTERRA age groupers from each region, and the strongest pro field since the inception of the sport. 20th Annual American Red Cross Walk-A-Thon

Annual walk-a-thon, sponsored by the NMI chapter of the American Red Cross. The 10km event will start at the Minachom Atdao (civic center) and it will run along the beach pathway, and the turning point will be at the Century Insurance. 7th Annual TAGA Kid’s Triathlon

The annual kid's triathlon will be hold in a flat area with one small hill climb located in San Antonio and Koblerville villages adjacent to the Pacific Islands Club. Age group: Age: 6-7 yrs. 8th Annual S.O.P.H.I.A. Walk

Named after the first runner of the former First Lady of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Island, SOPHIA, it means Saipan Outdoor Physical Health Invigorating Adventure. The walk is held along the beautiful shores of Saipan's pathway. 5km and 10km routes are available. The exact time and location of the event will be announced at a later date.
